"It is a tremendous honor for me to be elected as the next President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Society for the Study of Afro- American History in Winston Salem (SSAH).
I would like to thank the Board of Director’s and the membership for giving me this opportunity to lead SSAH for this upcoming term.
The SSAH community has provided me the support and knowledge to grow and progress in this tenure as President and I am extremely grateful.
The members of the SSAH Board of Directors, past and present, and so many active members continue to fulfill our mission of providing unprejudiced and relevant educational historic opportunities and content that both reproduce the accomplishments of lives from our past, and develop current professional colleagues, while continuously opening exciting doors to new members.
It is my heartfelt desire to inspire all of our members to bring their Afro- American history knowledge and actively participate in the SSAH of Winston-Salem committees and events.
I am seeking a continuous flow of new ideas, and opportunities to impact our local community and the great state of North-Carolina.
I look forward to working with the local community and each member to strengthen the SSAH of Winston-Salem and advocacy, and ensure that the (SSAH) of Winston-Salem continues to be an excellent organization, providing Afro-American History in its museum artifacts.
Love, Peace & Prosperity,
Rev. Dr. Marcus Barr
